ENRIQUE
Enrique Cabello was born December 23, 1991 in Dallas, TX. His father was not part of his childhood and after his father left, Sofia and Enrique moved to Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico. His brother Sam was born some month’s later in El Paso, Texas.
In Mexico, Sam and Enrique learned to speak Spanish. Later, his family moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico were his mom met Timothy Miller. That was a turning point in their lives. They then moved to Washington. When Tim and Sofia split, Sofia and all 3 kids moved back to Chihuahua.
For years Sam and Enrique had a fun life in Mexico enjoying their family and friends. Before Enrique got into 3rd grade, his mom met Alvaro Baeza; a true cowboy. For a better job, Alvaro Baeza moved to Upton Wyoming and later Sofia and the kids followed.
In Wyoming, they lived out of town and Sam and Enrique learned to speak English, ride horses, and learned the value of hard work. While in Wyoming, Enrique and Sam got involved in the Weston County Junior rodeo held every summer. With practice Enrique ended up winning the all around cowboy.
After two years in Upton, Alvaro got a new job in Newcastle Wyoming. Enrique was in 5th grade and Sam in 4th grade when they moved to Newcastle. They lived 38 miles out of town on Highway 450 – hence the band name. While in Upton, they learned a lot about ranching ranch animals and working. They would take the bus to school and ride it back during the school year during the summer they would work at the ranch. At that time Enrique began to really get a feeling for music he got his first mp3 and began identifying music.
At the ranch, Enrique found picked up an old guitar. To his amazement, this guitar became his passion. Enrique had been stunned by a game called guitar hero and realized even he could create great music and his life with the guitar began. Every day after school he would ride the bus home and practice for hours with Sam. He realized doing what you love is all you have to do is you put your heart and mind into it and he loved music and wanted to live to play.
Enrique’s dedication, hard work and passion shines through every time he picks up his guitar. HWY 450 is on track to become a chart topping, hit making band.
SAM
Sam Ceballo was born on December 14, 1992 in El Paso, Texas. His mother Sofia and his brother Enrique have had an immeasurable amount of impact on his life. Ever since he was young, he has always been fascinated by music. Sam’s philosophy on music is that you should look at it from a colored blind perspective. Music doesn't have a color to me therefore I like all music equally.
Sam’s brother, mother, and he moved to Washington in the early days of his youth because my mother met Tim. When Tim and Sofia split, they left Washington with their sister Patricia and moved to Mexico. In Mexico, Sam and his brother learned how to speak perfect Spanish. While in Mexico, his mother met and married Alvaro and moved to Upton, Wyoming.
From the day he moved to Upton and to this very day, Alvaro taught him a very important life lesson - work ethic. Because of the work ethic that Alvaro taught him, Sam knows no matter what happens I will never starve because of a strong work ethic. Sam can work in any environment with passion and dedication.
When Sam first moved to Newcastle, he decided to take band as an elective. From at moment, he knew he wanted to be a drummer. The snare drum was the first instrument that Sam learned to play. He played the snare drum for years in the school band because his ultimate goal was to learn how to play the drum set.
Eventually Sam started playing the drum set for his church in Gillette, Wyoming. This was strange for Sam because he had to play a Latin style of drums and had no previous experience of playing the actual full drum set before. It wasn't until I was in 8th grade that Sam realized that he wanted to start playing guitar and making beautiful music for the sake of making music.
Sam realized that playing guitar was something totally different than playing anything else. He started playing on an old nylon guitar that only had three strings and was definitely never in tune. He would just play on it for hours, eventually I went inside of a closet because his family would get tired of listening to him "play".
Guitar Hero had a huge impact on Sam’s life. He was absolutely mesmerized by the thought that he could be living to play music for the rest of his life.
From that point forward he wanted nothing more than to become the best guitarist he could be. In the summer of 2008 he upgraded and got an acoustic guitar. During this phase of his life, Sam and his brother, Enrique, started to become masters at playing guitar and began to be competitive against each other. By being competitive, they evolved to a point were they realized that they could start co-creating music together.
Naming the band was something Sam and Enrique felt needed to have an important value and meaning to them. They took Highway 450 to town daily in Wyoming so it was a perfect fit – driving the highway to success, prosperity and to reach our true passion – music!
The number one reason that I play music is because I notice a lot of suffering in the world and I see that some people would rather ignore it instead of want to grow from it.
